How began my journey

My journey began at 06:00 a.m. at Av.Javier Prado in Lima . Aboard the popular "Chosicanos", we undertook a two-hour trip bound for Chosica. for (S / .4)

In Chosica, we got off at the Echenique Park whereabouts of the cousters that would lead us to San Pedro de Castes. However, before we went to breakfast  that was in the same park as we still had a three-hour trip ahead.

After securing our seats and luggage in the Cousten, we began the journey to San Pedro de Castes. The scenery along this stretch are very typical of the Sierra del Peru, the carriage advances by a small road / trail next to impressive depths in almost all the way. The first (and only stop) the trip is in Huinco, a small town that offers toilets (S / 0.30) and groceries to endure the hour and a half away remainder.

Then a few hours we arrived in San Pedro de Casta, village of about 500 people located at the base of the plateau of Marcahuasi, are the same people who are in charge of tourism management of one of the wonders of Peru. After getting off the car, at about noon, we looked for a place to have lunch

The Climb to Marcahuasi

To reach Marcahuasi have to pay an entrance fee, this money is entirely used for the maintenance of the tourist attraction. There are different ways to climb to the plateau. Here is the detail;

*Walking: The climb on foot is one of the most rewarding ways to climb Marcahuasi (they have told me). The estimated time is 4 hours, depending on the pace and path you take. The long route skirts the mountain and get straight to the Amphitheatre; the cut is passed through the cabin Daniel Ruzo, an archaeologist who dedicated his life to studying this place. Both paths offer spectacular, worthy of selfie for Snapchat respective views.

   * By car: (S / 12) This is the easiest way to climb. The carriage takes about 40 minutes to take you to a certain point of the mountain, since the plateau vehicles can not enter. From there, you have to climb 1 kilometer walk to reach the amphitheater.

   * Donkey: Whether you climb on foot or horseback, it is best that you hire the services of a donkey to load your stuff to the plateau (Only load luggage / S / 20).

*A horse: For S / 20 can have the experience of climbing on the back of a horse. The climb will take approximately 2 hours. However, if you are carrying all your camping implements will need to rent a donkey to load your luggage (S 20 extra /).

we wanted to take the day as it could because after sunset everything is dark in the Stone Forest. On reaching the whereabouts of the car, started the "simple" one kilometer climb to Marcahuasi with all our luggage. Simple? The climb is tough. After arriving at the amphitheater you ever lose your breath and this time not by fatigue, but by astonishment. Amphitheater Marcahuasi is the camping area and is surrounded by towering rocks that protect travelers from the wind.

light the campfire and shelter us

The temperature dropped very quickly, becoming quite hard. At 09:00 pm, after dinner, we decided to sleep so we could wake up early and have more time to visit the place. The night was so cold.

The next day dawned cold but bearable, get ready all our stuff. then, we take to get as far away as we could the amphitheater. We reached the Laguna Cachucachu, an incredible lagoon that according to local never dries. Then we met the Infernillo, a crack of rock that according to legends say that anyone who dares to enter will be swallowed and remain trapped inside the earth.

Place to see these stones and camping

Just arrived (5:30 p.m.), we started to set up the tents and leave everything tidy for the night. Once ready advantage by waling aroundthe view is breathtaking. Really takes your breath away. After sunset, we had a few minutes to return to camp, because at night is dangerous to be walking in a forest of rocks with hundreds of precipices for obvious reasons.

Thats a braking news and say, Alien in Marcahuasi

Marcahuasi is in south of Peru, near from Chosica

Marcahuasi: mysteries in Stone

These are the words of Daniel Ruzo, found in the introduction of his book, "Marcahuasi The Story of a Fantastic Discovery", first published in the Spanish language in 1974. Ruzo (1900-1993) was certainly one of the grandfathers of the New Age.Marcahuasi is a unique mountain top, geologically unlike any of the surrounding Andes, located 80KM north east of Lima, Peru.

Daniel Ruzo, a genius by his own definition, has dedicated his life to the study of sacred sites around the world. Today he continues his life’s work at his home in Cuernavaca, Mexico; close to Tepotzlan, another sacred mountain site. The works of art referred to in the introduction of his book are the monuments, monolithic sculptures, some megaliths, which are found on top of Marcahuasi. There are hundreds of these monuments on the 41/2KM x 1KM plateau. They are so large, so clear that even someone who isn’t a seeker cannot argue their existence.
