Inti Raymi 2016 - Traditional Festival

INTRODUCTION
more than six centuries ago, the Inka Pachakuteq instituted the Feast of the Sun God. The Cusqueños are still representing the Inti Raymi with the same fervor with which their ancestors made in the splendid time of the Incas.

There were several reasons that prompted the Inca civilization to make sacrifices and offerings to the sun. One was that the Inca, as the Cuzco nobility, were considered natural children of the Sun; to obey his existence, and should correspond with sacrifices and offerings. On the other hand, if the corn harvest was good, I had to thank him and if it was bad, I had to beg him to compensate them next year with a good production.

WHEN START FEST THE INTI RAYMI

The Inti Raymi, contemporary version is from the June 24, 1944, when the festivities were instituted in the city in memory of their ancient origin and cradle of civilization Gran Inka.
